Education

BA, LLB Auckland University
I graduated from the University of Auckland in May 1998 with a Law and Arts conjoint degree, and a major in history.

What do I do?

I joined our firm in 2004 after spending 4 years in general practice and 12 months getting my feet wet in the legal arena as a junior litigation solicitor in the commercial and maritime law areas.

I now practice in the areas of commercial and company law and personal services. Personal services covers areas such as property (residential and commercial), financing, trusts and estate law. That means that I help our clients with both their business and their personal legal requirements.

What do I enjoy about what I do?

I enjoy the variety and pace of work dealing with the various issues that face our clients everyday. There is never a dull moment and I have a great team to work with.

What am I like out of work?

At the end of the work day I love to get outside, stretch my legs and my mind, swim and spend time with my family and my Labrador dogs. I have swum for almost as long as I have walked and I love the peace and solitude water can provide. It is also great fun.

What would I be if I wasn’t a lawyer?

An astronaut? An architect? The latter is not so far fetched, as I was accepted into architecture before deciding on law. But law was for me (with its room for creative problem solving).
